Typical Saturday for me and Bronco. I am busy as a bee and Bronco is snoozing in the recliner! I try to make everything as noisy as I possibly can!
Busy today= getting those black eye peas ready! I think we will eat them today and tomorrow!
About Me
- ba
- UPDATED PROFILE: Well I really am a stay-at-home mom now except I am only staying at home with my doggies, Boo and Puppie! They do love me so. They do not ask for very much other than me to feed them and take them on an occasional walk and a pat on the head. I, being the exceptional mom that I am, do sing and dance for them, and they adore me for that. So, life is good in my empty nest. I miss my baby girls ever so much, but I plan to enjoy the next 20+ good years! Old Profile: I am a stay-home mom. I love running my children to all of their extra curricula activities. I love to cook and shop for antiques. I love my girls, my dogs and my happy home! No, that is my make-belief life! I have been teaching school for 29 years. I hope to retire in one more year, but I have two beautiful daughters who think they need a lot of stuff to survive. I would not change a thing. My road has been a bumpy one but it has taken me to a wonderful place!

2011--Age
Aging : Hmm.. I have REALLY found there is truth in, " I'm just too old to learn any new tricks." Wait...let me rephrase that...I'm too old to want to! That is the beauty of aging gracefully. One is expected to be a tad dotty, outspoken and outrageous...traits I intend to totally embrace in 2011.
Quote of the Day
For Mary,
Your children tell you casually years later what it would have killed you with worry to know at the time. ~Mignon McLaughlin, The Second Neurotic's Notebook, 1966

The Story of Two Very Different Sisters
One is here, one lives there. One is a little taller than the other. Two different colors of hair, two different outlooks on life, two very different views from their windows. Both have different tomorrows ahead. Each is unique in so many ways. Each has her own story, with all the busy things going on in the present. Each has different work to do and different demands on the day. Each has a separate destination and a distinctly different path to get there. But...For all the things that might be different and unique about them... these two sisters will always share so much. They will always be the best of family and friends, entwined together, through all the days of their lives. Their love will always be very special: gentle and joyful when it can be, strong and giving when it needs to be, reminding them, no matter how different their stories turn out...they share the incredibly precious gift of being "sisters." And when you think of some of the best things this world has to offer, a blessing like that is really...what it's all about.

"Seasons" at the Pump
Mr. Anderson got this pump from "the bottom" and delivered it to my front yard in the early 90s. Since its original location, it has followed me to 4 different home sites. I think of him almost every time I take pictures of it or plant a new flower or vine around it. He was quite a man and unique individual.
